Will Breland joined LSA in September 2020. Breland received his bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Birmingham-Southern College (2011), where he also served as student body president. He received a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law (2020), where he received a Certificate in Public Interest Law and served as articles editor for the Journal of the Legal Profession. His legal scholarship has appeared in law journals published by Georgetown University Law Center, Tulane University Law School, and Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. Breland first role at LSA was as a Borchard Fellow focusing on researching and resolving heirs property issues in Alabama. Before law school, Breland worked as a middle school science teacher in Brooklyn, New York, and a park ranger with the National Park Service. He currently serves as the elder law staff attorney (Area Agency on Aging of West Alabama) in the Tuscaloosa Regional Office.
