Robert has worked as Grant Writer for LSA since 2020 and, prior to this appointment, worked in Alabama's judicial system most recently as a grant writer and researcher. He also previously served as a public information officer for the judicial system. Robert received a B.A. in English from Loyola University Chicago (2001) and a J.D. from Vermont Law School (2006), where he focused on legal research and writing.
Robert has a great deal of grant writing experience and has successfully secured over $11 million in grant awards over the last two years, alone, from several grantors to include the Bureau of Justice Affairs, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, Office on Violence Against Women, US Department of Labor, ADECA, Alabama Power, along with other private, city, and state funders. He also has written editorials and articles for various publications and serves as an editor and writer for LSA's biannual journal, The Advocate.
When he is not writing grants or articles, Robert enjoys grilling and becoming an amateur pit boss, "pumping iron," attempting to play with his antisocial 3.12 lb. yorkie, watching and studying 1970s cinema, and spending time with (and occasionally annoying) his lovely fiancée, Wendy.
