Tyler Brannon joined LSA in 2015. Brannon specializes in family and domestic violence law. A graduate of George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, VA (2010), Brannon worked at the university law library and as a legal intern for FairVote in Takoma Park, Maryland. Brannon currently serves as Staff Attorney at the One Place of the Shoals Family Justice Center in Florence, AL.
In the month of September, Brannon closed many cases involving domestic legal issues and protection from abuse. His hard work helped several clients find the safety and relief they sought.
In one case, Brannon secured a divorce for a client who had been unable to afford one in years past. Her husband no longer lived with her but would regularly show up to her home very drunk and trying to start fights. Police continued to refuse to remove him from the home because of their married status. Upon the divorce the client expressed it was a huge relief and she feels grateful to LSA and Brannon for the assistance.
In a similar case, Brannon was successful in getting a client a divorce from her abusive husband. Her husband had been arrested twice this year for domestic violence, but faced no charges in a vehicular manslaughter case where he was under the influence. The client is now divorced from her husband and was awarded custody of their child.
For these cases and so much more, Tyler Brannon is our September 2020 Advocate of the Month. Thanks for all you do, Tyler!
