New study highlights where poverty impacts Alabama school grades

The impact of poverty on education is a serious issue in Alabama. Factors include: below average test scores, diminished value of education, and little to no access to intervention programs among others (U.S. Department of Education, 2011). Legal Services Alabama provides basic civil legal assistance statewide to areas impacting low income families most.
