U.S. Small Business Administration Announces Economic Injury Disaster Loans for Cherokee, Dekalb County Residents

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that federal Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) are available for Cherokee County and Dekalb County, Alabama small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private nonprofit organizations with economic losses due to the drought that began on December 15, 2023.

Under this declaration, the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program is available to eligible farm-related and nonfarm-related entities that suffered financial losses as a direct result of this disaster.

Economic Injury Disaster Loans: Working capital loans to help small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private nonprofit organizations meet their ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met as a direct result of the disaster. These loans are intended to assist through the disaster recovery period.
