Unemployment Compensation

A government program designed to provide financial assistance to individuals who have lost their jobs and are actively seeking new employment. These benefits are intended to help people cover their living expenses while they are between jobs.

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

TANF a federal assistance program that provides financial support and services to low-income families with dependent children. The program is administered by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Families must meet specific criteria related to their income and household composition to qualify.

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)

SSDI is a federal benefits program that provides financial support to individuals who are unable to work due to a disability. SSDI is administered by the Social Security Administration (SSA) and is designed to offer financial assistance to individuals with disabilities and their eligible dependents. Unlike Supplemental Security Income (SSI), which is based on financial need, SSDI is primarily based on an individual’s work history and prior contributions to the Social Security system.

Medicaid

Medicaid is a joint federal and state government program that provides healthcare coverage and medical assistance to eligible low-income individuals and families. The program is administered by individual states, and its primary aim is to ensure that people with limited financial resources have access to necessary healthcare services.

Medicare

Medicare is a federal government health insurance program that provides healthcare coverage primarily for individuals aged 65+. It also covers some younger individuals with certain disabilities and individuals with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Medicare is administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
